Evergreen Cottages is a 16 bed assisted living community specializing in care for Individuals with dementia and Alzheimer’s needs. Evergreen Cottages sits on a lush lawn with suburban views. The home has a comfortable, updated country-style architecture. With close proximity to the highway, seniors and their families will have quick access to the daily amenities they frequent. Evergreen Cottages have nearby medical facilities and pharmacies allowing seniors to continue care from their place of choice. There are also big box stores like Wal-Mart and Kroger Marketplace in the area. Seniors and their families will find plenty to do with entertainment options like visiting the nearby movie theater, venturing to the mall, or visiting one of the many parks in the area. At Evergreen Cottages, the philosophy is to create an environment that nourishes seniors and their families at every level. As an assisted living facility with a memory care unit, staff is trained in dementia care research and technology.
Services and Amenities
As an assisted living and memory care home, Evergreen Cottages has licensed nurses and staff available 24 hours a day. Caregivers receive monthly training sessions to ensure residents are receiving the most up to date care. With this training staff is able to prevent stress and provide service with the utmost care. Evergreen Cottages is a secure location with a non-invasive monitoring system in place to ensure the safety of residents. During their time, seniors will have access to many on-site services and amenities to take the hassle of everyday chores off their plate. Services offered include individualized care plans, medicine administration, daily housekeeping, and many more. On-site cooks provide tasty, nutritious snacks and three full meals a day that meet the dietary needs of each senior.
In the memory care facility, Evergreen has many methods to ensure seniors with memory care needs lead an enriched life with activities that increase well-being.
Daily routines: Provides seniors with a familiar sense of well being and comfortability throughout seniors’ stay.

Living Arrangements
Evergreen Cottages offers a variety of suites for seniors to choose from. In addition to one-bedroom suites, semi-private suites are also available. The building has ground floor units and wheelchair accessible showers for those with mobility needs. Each suite has Wi-Fi and is cable ready. Respite and short-term stays are offered for seniors who may not need a permanent residence.
State Classification
Evergreen Cottages is a Type B assisted living facility. In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows:
Assisted Living Facility
A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities:
Type A:
A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted.
Type B:
A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair.
Type C (Adult Foster Care):
Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. The facility provides supervision and personal care services to residents.
